Miscellaneous Scam Money Transfers
Example - Miranda Lola Johnson, Sarah Baptiste
I`ll want you to cash the cashier check, remove your asking price and forward the rest to the shipper, from which they will arrange for the pick up of my purchase from you and also to ship from Our Dallas Home to Our New Home Jo-bourg
Did you receive an email from a "Miranda Lola Johnson" who
says to contact her - or Sarah Baptiste and
"I`ll want you to cash the cashier check, remove your asking price and forward the rest to the shipper, from which they will arrange for the pick up of my purchase from you and also to ship from Our Dallas Home to Our New Home Jo-bourg"
The scammer will try to steal your identity and get you to send him money, but
the text of the scam is so odd, it's hard to imagine anyone falling for it. If
this email out-of-the-blue from an unknown foreigner offering to pay you absurd
amounts of money for almost no work doesn't strike you as a scam, then you
really need to read through a number of the scams on this website and
familiarize yourself with their approach.
Miranda Lola Johnson and Sarah Baptiste (not their real names, obviously, and probably the
same person) hopes to con you into sending money for various "fees" to free the fortune.

Notice (highlighted below)
some of the other
obvious signs that this is a scam are poor
spelling , use of free Yahoo/Hotmail/etc email accounts, proposals that make no
sense, etc.:

tired to write the email and I wanted you to have the information for the
payment today.I hope you understand.
Thanks.

Hello Deborah, I hope this email finds you and your
household well.Let me also thank you for your patience and understanding
with me since we opened this transaction. Anyway,I`ll like to inform you
that your payment has been sent by my hubby`s associate who promised to help
us out since my hubby had been indisposable to be home in the last few
weeks, but there are one or two faults with the payment, though it`s not
really a fault but I just think it`ll be a wise thing to inform you before
it arrives so that you can be sure it`s actually the payment for my
purchase. One,he errorneously included The Shipper`s payment with your
payment as he could not really understand what my arrangements were with you
and two, while in Dallas,he misplaced your mailing address to mail the
payment, and he was also unable to see me since I was in the hospital for bed
rest as advised by the doctors because of my new baby. The payment was sent
from Lagos according to him the payment should be delivered to you within 8
to 10 working days at most. The payment was made with a cashier check. I`ll
want you to cash the cashier check, remove your asking price and forward the
rest to the shipper, from which they will arrange for the pick up of my
purchase from you and also to ship from Our Dallas Home to Our New Home Jo-bourg.
I`m very sorry for the inconviniences this my little act may have on you,I
hope to hearing back from you as soon as possible so I`ll know you`ve gotten
the message. Kindest regards, Sarah Baptiste
