See this page for our checklist of some of the things we look for. If we cannot find sufficient evidence of a clear scam, we present it unedited, as a consumer complaint

Complaint received, April 7, 2008

A telemarketer called the company I worked for and told the girl that they were sending tape. Confirmed our shipping information and took her name. They said they were also sending a free gift card to Starbuck's. We got the tape. 8 dozen @ $5.00 each. No starbuck's card. My co-worker had no idea there was a charge and was told thatthey were sending 5 rolls. I was given an RMA # but refused the request for a shipping account. I was told that a manager was not available when I asked for one and that they did not have voice mail. I googled them and found several complaints about them and a website which they deny. The website is shipping-supplies.wholesalen.com. It appears blank then when you scroll down has gibberish. The email address on the site is carparts@@temporaryforwarding.com

There is no contact name, phone number, mailing address or physical address; only an email address on another domain:

carparts@@temporaryforwarding.com Notice that the email address has been misspelled, with two @'s which may be deliberate or a really sloppy mistake.  We don't know if it should be carparts@temporaryforwarding.com but obviously that would be an email forwarder.

Clearly, the people behind this business are doing their best to hide their true identities and be hard to find.

The website is a subdomain.

A search in Google turns upon a number of other subdomains, all with exactly the same unprofessional and empty look:

Our recommendation

If the consumer's report is accurate, then coupled with our observations above, this is a scam business.

We advised the consumer to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They have a very good track record of resolving disputes and obtaining refunds for customers.

The complaints logged and are very public; something most companies don't want on the public record. The  BBB complaint form is on this page: https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx  If you get a security announcement, just click OK and then "next" and fill out the form.

You can ALSO file a complaint at www.complaintsboard.com/ That's a very public form for general business complaints.
