Scam Money Transfers from Lawyers / Barristers
Example -
BARRISTER SANDY CARRINGTON LAW FIRM:
"Wealthy dead client's name: Maurice Wohl"

Have you received an email from "BARRISTER SANDY CARRINGTON LAW FIRM", claiming that she is an attorney for a dead wealthy man, "the great philanthropist, Late Maurice Wohl" who, she claims,

"made a random selection of individuals( via email addressees)drawn from 250 Countries in the world , whom he expects to continue in line with his selfless services to mankind"

If you follow the link in the email (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/877056.html) , you will see a common ploy that scammers use: they fabricate a story, a con, around a true event.  Yes, this man was wealthy and he did die, and he was a philanthropist. But notice the date of the article: July 02, 2007. He died a year and a half before this scam email.  Plus, the article says nothing about him giving money away to people at random, via email or any other method.  It notes that he was a "prominent British Jewish philanthropist". Don't you think that he would have given the money to Jewish causes, rather than random strangers by email?  And if he did, wouldn't that have been front page news?

If you would like a step by step explanation of how this type of "Advance Fee Fraud" works, click here!

Note the items highlighted in the actual email below. You would think a lawyer / barrister would have the education (or at least a spell checker) to avoid so many spelling, punctuation, syntax, grammar and other mistakes.  Not to mention the unusual and unprofessional use of free Yahoo email accounts instead of a business email address.
