  1. Report received, April 16, 2008:

    I received a message left on my cell phone, what was described as an emergency but no details. Please note: my parents are elderly (>90) and of course called the number 800-909-9095 ext 4074. I was suspicious due to the fact it was an 800 number. My no name contact asked my name, and I responded. He then asked for my social security number. I cursed him and hung up. I have not heard from them. Not sure what can be done. Please contact me if I can provide any more info.

A search on this number turns up reports that say this is "ARS" or ARS National or A.R.S. (collection agency, whose clients are reported to include J.C. Penny) and a "Time Share Company". The call often shows up as "ARS NATL SVC".  Many reports tell of being treated rudely.
