Recognize Them and What To Do If You Receive One
One victim really did win the lottery.. the lottery of scam emails in one day.
She received the following 3 emails, all in one day, and all telling her she won
a different "UK online lottery". Of course, there are no legal online lotteries
in the UK.
There are only two legal lotteries in Britain,
the National Lottery
and the Monday Lottery, and they do
NOT use email to notify winners. If that isn't enough, we've
highlighted some other obvious
clues that they are scams; such as using free email accounts, winning simply by
having an email address, spelling mistakes, etc. Below are scam emails actually received.
DO NOT reply to any emails you receive saying that you have won a lottery that
you did not enter. They are frauds. You will lose your money.
There is no "free lunch"; don't be foolish and believe a scam! We can not
say it any more plainly: YOU WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL BY ANY
LEGITIMATE LOTTERY THAT YOU WON A PRIZE. If you do receive such an email,
