"Just to let you know...I was scammed into the CD offer that Bruce Berman was offering. I spoke to the representative in India and got the same pitch that you got. I held my position and insisted on returning the CDs. I had opened one of the CDs (EBAY Instant Income) and with that, my decision was pretty clear. I didn't want them! But, I did not understand the importance of the condition the CDs needed to be in for return. The reason was that I could barely understand the representative from India that I was talking to.

Not only that, the representative gave me an RMA # for the return and didn't mention that I would be receiving the below email. Well, the RMA # he gave me over the phone did not match the one in the E-mail (imagine that!). This, I think, could have been a ploy to have the customer pay the whole $99.00 since it wouldn't have been labeled properly for return.

All said and done, I took the final offer for the $9.90 because I figured my shipping cost would exceed that. So I ended up paying $13.85 for a good lesson.

It would be great if you could post this on your website being that it may save someone some more money. Since trying to fight this would be time consuming and probably cost too much.

"First, nobody should call and put the order for the free book, because we know now it's a scam. But if like me, you dropped your guard one day and got sucked in, you have options. First, you can return the audio CDs, but of course you have to pay shipping and worry about them closing your account properly. Or, you can call and say you want to return the product, they will lower the offer every step of the way. On the phone, make sure to hesitate and sound uncertain enough to get the lowest phone offer, should be $15. Then confirm you want to return the product and hang up. You will receive an email with the 'Return Authorization Number' and... one last offer for $9.90.

At that point you can decide whether you want to keep everything for $13.85 (9.90 + 3.95) or simply take the hit and pay the shipping back.

If you paid $99.90 already, I would get on the phone right now, complain and complain to anyone you can get on the line until they offer a $90 credit. Threat small claims court, whatever you have to. They will work the same way, start with a $25 credit offer, put you on hold. Complain some more you will get a $50 credit offer. And keep going until you get a $90 credit offer."
