How to Return the Bruce Berman "Free" Book

So, now you're thinking that this "free" Bruce A. Berman book is going to cost you $99 because they slipped the audio cd collection in on you.  You are probably feeling scammed.  You call the number, which is not toll-free, to return it. It turns out there is also a toll-free number, which they may not have given you.  Here it is: (877)237-6265. They also have an email address recorded with the Los Angeles area Better Business Bureau, which is: ryan@bruceaberman.com

In our case, an Indian-sounding woman answered the phone.  Whether this was a call center in India or not, we could not tell.

Let's Validate Your Order

First, she wanted to know our name, address, email address and last 4 digits of the credit card we used, to retrieve our order in here system.  We provided it, and she offered us $25 off of the price, to keep the cd's! 

• Point 3 - The price went down to 74.90 by trying to return the cd's

This wasn't too surprising; this is a common ploy when the sale was based on hidden or disguised terms or costs.

We persisted in returning the cd's and declined her offer.  She carried on with some more innocuous questions and commentary.

And the she made another offer! Another $25 off!

• Point 4 - declining the first offer brought another $25 reduction

Now, with the price down to $49.90 for a collection we didn't want, you may be tempted.  But hold on; there's more.

That's right, when we insisted that we wanted to return the cd's a third time, and she finally provided a return authorization code and address; she offered another $25 off.

• Point 5 - Final price $24.90

That's right the Bruce Berman audio cd set, that we didn't want, came down from $99.90 to $24.90 in just a few minutes.  And another victim wrote to tell us that if we held out further, the price goes down to $9.90!

• Point 6 - "Crushproof" packaging and insurance?

But if you want to return the cd's, the kind lady warns you that the cd's must be returned in a "resalable" condition, unopened.  And she advised returning them in "crushproof packaging" to ensure that they aren't damaged in shipping.  You would think that shipping the cd's back in the package that Bruce Berman mailed them to you in would be sufficient, but she strongly advised against it; because if they arrive damaged, you will have to pay for them!

She also advised obtaining delivery confirmation and insurance for $100. And, if you even opened the cd's plastic shrink wrap, they're "damaged".  So how can you test them during the 30 day trial period?  And that 30-day trial period started when you ORDERED the book, not received it.
